Meet Dr. Brent

Dr. Brent, as he is called by the children who visit the office, lives in Prior Lake with his wife, Lisa, and three daughters; Greta, Ava, and Ella. Dr. Brent grew up in Eagan and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1986. The following spring, he attended St. Olaf College. When he wasn’t studying or playing football, he enjoyed mentoring and helping local troubled middle schoolers with their problems.

In 1990, after graduating with a B.A. in biology, he continued his education at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Brent spent three rewarding months of his dental training in Nijmegen, Holland, participating in the clinical dental exchange program.

After graduating from dental school in 1994, Dr. Brent knew pediatric dentistry was his future. In 1997, he completed his residency in the division of pediatric dentistry at the University of Minnesota, with a master’s degree in pediatric dentistry.  Dr. Brent’s thesis on the “Incidence of Oralfacial Injuries in High School Sports” was published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry in the fall of 1998.

Dr. Brent has been with Children's Dental Care since 1997, and a partner since 1999. He enjoys covering emergencies for the Minnesota State High School League, and assisting young at-risk athletes with mouthguard use.

Dr. Brent enjoys running, biking, and family time at the cabin.
